Ingredients
1 lb. hamburger (15-20% fat content)
1/2 C. finely chopped onion
1/2 tsp. chili powder, or to taste
salt and pepper, to taste
1 C. tomato sauce
2 Tbs. prepared mustard
2 Tbs. sugar
2 Tbs. cider vinegar
1/2 C. ketchup
4 hamburger buns
Directions
Brown the hamburger in a small amount of oil. After the meat is browned, add the onion, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Saute for 3-4 minutes on medium heat.
While meat mixture is browning, combine the remaining ingredients (except the buns) and mix until the sugar is dissolved. Add sauce to the meat mixture, stirring thoroughly.
Let simmer 10-15 minutes to blend flavors and slightly thicken sauce.
Serve on warmed hamburger buns with a side-salad, crudite, or your favorite chips.
