Ingredients

lemons, sliced thinly
sugar

Organic ingredients preferred.

Directions

Using a kitchen mandoline, thinly slice a few lemons so they are as close to paper thin as possible. Place each sliced lemon in a bowl and cover with sugar, mixing well to coat all cut surfaces. Continue slicing and sugaring until you have reached the capacity of a covered container. After a few days on the counter when the sugar has turned to thick liquid, give a last stir and place in refrigerator. At the end of a week, your lemonade mix is ready to begin use. Just place a tablespoon of lemon slices and syrup in a tall glass, fill with ice and water.  This works to make lemonade by the pitcher also.
